Project Overview: Design and execution of an architectural scale-pattern flooring. The project integrates an articulated Botticino marble mosaic framework with a continuous pour of a specialized marble-dust and cement matrix, executed using traditional artisanal techniques. Key Highlights: ● Mosaic Framework Preparation: The scale-pattern grid is custom-shaped and pre-assembled in the atelier using Botticino marble tesserae. Installed on-site, it establishes the structural and geometric matrix of the floor. ● Continuous Cementitious Infill: A high-performance mixture consisting of marble dust, dedicated additives, and a cement binder is poured within the mosaic framework to form a seamless composite surface. ● Hand-Polished Finish & Contour Shaping: Rather than using industrial surface grinders to produce a uniform flat plane, the finishing was executed manually using angle grinders. Targeted grinding along the mosaic grid creates a subtle, defined textured surface profile.
