Traditional Overlapping Arch Terrazzo & Mosaic – Private Residence, Lodi

Traditional Overlapping Arch Terrazzo & Mosaic – Private Residence, Lodi

Project Overview:
Execution and installation of an artistic floor combining marble mosaic and traditional
seminato alla veneziana featuring a classic overlapping arch motif ("fish scale"). Built within
a private residence in Lodi, the project demonstrates technical modular prefabrication and
seamless cast-in-place integration.
Key Highlights:
● Module Prefabrication: Off-site assembly of Botticino marble tesserae on fiberglass
mesh backings to guarantee geometric alignment of the overlapping arch patterns
and precise joints during installation.
● Balanced Aggregate Casting: The geometric mosaic motif was integrated into a
cast-in-place aggregate bed featuring a calibrated mixture of Biancone di Verona and
Botticino marble chips, selected for tonal harmony and surface reflectivity.
● In-Situ Finishing & Polishing: Mechanical leveling, technical grouting, and heavy
grinding executed entirely on-site to achieve a perfectly planar surface with a
high-gloss mirror finish.
