Early 20th-Century Venetian Seminato Restoration & Installation – Via San
Primo, Milan

Project Overview:
Execution of traditional seminato alla veneziana flooring for an early 20th-century private
residence located in Via San Primo, Milan. Reflecting bespoke Italian craftsmanship, the
ornamental motif and tonal selections were calibrated to integrate seamlessly within the
historic architecture of the period property.
Key Highlights:
● Central Inlaid Motif: Central decorative rosette prepared off-site in the workshop
using hand-cut Bianco Carrara marble tesserae, subsequently positioned and set
on-site prior to pouring the main aggregate bed.
● Perimeter Framing in Carrara Cubes: Room borders and spatial divisions are
framed using geometric bands composed of individual Bianco Carrara marble blocks.
● Dual-Tone Field Casting: The seminato alla veneziana aggregate base was poured
using two distinct background color tones to delineate functional interior zones.
● Calibrated Matte Surface Finish: Mechanical diamond-grinding and surface
treatments calibrated to produce a matte historic patina consistent with early 19th
and 20th-century interiors.
