Conservative Restoration & Structural Reintegration of Palladiana Flooring –
Private Apartment, Milan

Project Overview:
Conservative restoration and structural recomposition of a Palladiana marble floor within a
private apartment in Milan. The intervention involved structural restoration of degraded areas and material reintegration of losses using Trani Bronzetto stone, seamlessly harmonizing integrated sections with the historic pre-existing floor.
Key Highlights:
● Substrate Consolidation: Targeted removal of detached areas, extraction of
unstable stone fragments, and thorough substrate decontamination to clear residual
debris and dust.
● Material Selection & Reintegration: Hand-shaping, selection, and bed-joint
installation of Trani Bronzetto stone chips to fill voids while strictly preserving the
original geometric pattern and layout.
● Color-Matched Grouting: Precision sealing of joints and micro-fissures using a
custom-formulated cementitious slurry matched to the chromatic tone of the
pre-existing binder.
● Grinding & Surface Finishing: Fine-grit mechanical honing to eliminate lipage,
followed by deep site cleaning and the application of a color-enhancing
hydro-oleophobic protective sealant.
